We have just returned from Epsom after a last round of marvellous social events before our departure from St Arvans to Gatwick, courtesy of taxi and National Express coaches. We are booked into the Travelodge at Gatwick to be sure we are ready for the Qantas flight to KL on Wednesday. Staying with Clare and Ed was a real pleasure and it was a delight to catch a fleeting 10 minutes with Andy before he had to return to Uppingham.

The past few weeks have seen us tying up loose ends and dealing with the fall out from the move. Thankfully the problem with Virgin Media has been satisfactorily resolved, a victory for common sense. However Qantas has still to sort out the issues surrounding the rescheduling of our Port Moresby to Darwin flight, which is now via Sydney, and for which an unauthorised charge was made to our credit card.

Having thought that accommodation had been fully booked we have just received two cancellations of Bed and Breakfast places. Airbnb do offer 20% credit to assist rebooking, which is a help,

We now have the challenge of packing for a variety of climates into 20kg each, and making sure all the paperwork is in order. We are really ready to go (I hope).
